IOWA THESPIAN FESTIVAL

November 10 - 11, 2023
​UNIVERSITY OF NORTHERN IOWA

Join us on the UNI campus for the 2023 Iowa Thespian Festival, open to all theatre students and teachers in the state of Iowa. The festival will be held from Friday, November 10  to Saturday, November 11. 
  • Grow your knowledge with interactive workshops on every aspect of theatre — onstage, backstage, and everywhere in-between. 
  • Experience performances of all kinds: staged readings and improv, student-written works, one-acts and full-scale main stage productions. 
  • Showcase your talents through college auditions, Tech Challenge and the Thespy Awards. 
  • Build your theatre family — you’ll meet hundreds of Thespians and theatre educators and form lifelong friendships. 
The Iowa Thespian Festival is where you see, think, and do theatre for two incredible days! Check out the general information now and registration will begin in August.

​Our mission is to honor student achievement in theatre and enrich the educational experience, to support educators by providing professional development, networking opportunities, resources, and recognition, and to influence public opinion and policymakers that theatre education is essential and builds life skills.
​
We are passionate about theatre education and believe all students should have access to theatre curriculum which provides critical life skills for educational and career success in the 21st century.
